Find the fair meeting point

Enter 2 to 5 coordinates and get the geographic midpoint with honest per-point distances. Everything runs in your browser.

From a midpoint to a meeting place

The midpoint is a starting area, not a venue. Open it on a map, look for a town, station, or landmark within a few kilometres, and agree on an exact spot with the people involved. Our location guides explain how to share that spot and coordinate arrival without oversharing your live position.

If one person would travel far longer than the rest, move the meeting toward them or split the difference by travel time using a routing app. Fairness by road beats fairness by geometry.

Distance between pins

Measure the straight-line gap between any two points.

Draw a radius map

Draw a circle around the midpoint to explore venues inside it.

Midpoint questions

Is this the halfway point by road?
No. This is the geographic midpoint on the globe: the centre of the entered points as the crow flies. Real travel time depends on roads, traffic, and borders, so treat the result as a starting area for picking a venue, not a fairness guarantee.
How is the midpoint calculated?
Each point is converted to 3D coordinates on the sphere, the positions are averaged, and the average is projected back to latitude and longitude. That handles the curvature of the Earth correctly, including points across the equator or the antimeridian.
Why do the distances to each point differ?
With three or more points, the centre minimises the overall spread rather than equalising every leg. The tool shows each distance honestly so you can see who travels furthest.
Where do I get coordinates to enter?
Right-click any place in Google Maps and copy the coordinates, or read your own position with the LocateKit coordinates tool. Paste one pair per row, decimal degrees work best.
Is anything uploaded or stored?
No. The calculation runs in your browser tab. Coordinates stay on your device unless you copy the result or open a maps link.
What if two points are on opposite sides of the planet?
Near-antipodal inputs have no meaningful single midpoint: the average collapses toward zero and any direction is equally valid. The tool warns you when the spread covers most of the globe instead of returning a misleading point.
